Impress is one project brand promoted by Humber Client/Contractor Training Association, a wholly owned subsidiary of Humber Chemical Focus. From our registered office in the CATCH facility at Stallingborough, Impress is involved with employer led projects for the benefit of its chosen sector. Impress' operational sector is the Chemical and Allied Industries, primarily those companies manufacturing, or for contractors, working in the Humber sub-region, though not exclusively.

NEW to launch on the 1st November 2007 is Impress' shared Pre-Qualification project.  Piloted with 4 Client companies, a basic pre-qual questionnaire has been published for use. The first two pilot audits will take place during November 2007 and be evaluated in December 2007 for a main push in the new year.Added value will be reduced duplication at the basic pre-qual stage and commonality of approach will help Contracting organisations too.

Our long-running project is working on behalf of the Humber Bank Contractor Competency Forum, aproject named ConCom. The project was developed by a group of 12 Client companies in the Humber region of the UK to bring about performance improvements by their Contractors, whether they are term contractors or project-based contractors mainly responsible for the shutdowns and outages that are a way of life to this industry sector. Impress administers a systems-based audit as the first contribution to the performance improvement targets set by the participating Clients. Impress leads the audit visit to Contractors' workshops or sites but is always accompanied by a Client auditor to assure the Contractor of the seriousness of the scheme as viewed by the Clients.  The location for the audit is determined by those Clients nominating a particular Contractor. The outcome leads to an action plan for improvements in some cases.  The improvements recorded may be the implementation of acceptable systems of work or for direct training inputs for personnel. The scheme is well received by those taking part and the Clients specifically have 24/7 secure access to the electronic data held through this website.

Alongside commercial projects Impress advises companies on a range of apprenticeship programmes with leading training providers following realignment of its own services to support the company's CATCH project mentioned earlier. Apprentices still in training with Impress will be taken through to full completion with minimum disruption to the learners themselves.
