IMPRESS SEEKS EXTERNAL PROJECTS FOR MEMBER COMPANIES.

16 December 2008 - Impress grows ConCom with the help of more Clients.

ConCom has accelerated its size & scale of operation and is currently reviewing its auditing system in partnerhip with IMPRESS.  Synthomer is a new Client at the table in 2008 and with their membership comes a batch of new contractors that will boost the biennial schedule.  Over 180 companies are now nominated into the scheme which provides for a systems-based audit covering key areas of concern to Clients, namely Health & Safety, Recruitment, Training, Quality Assurance and Sub-contractor management. IMPRESS, based at CATCH, continues to oversee the management of the project for the Humber Bank Contractor Competency Forum. Joint benefits exist for those Clients and Contractors joining the scheme, which has been open to the Humber region's Contractors since 2001. Look for the ConCom page on this website.

5 December 2008 - Impress continues with the, already proven successful, Pre-Qual project into 2009.  It is endorsed by 4 major Humber Client Organisations.

A recent review of progress on the 5th December was attended by all 4 sponsoring Clients.  There was a unanimous opinion that the project had been beneficial with 1 Client claiming postive outcomes in a recent HSE audit where the Pre-Qualification system  was able to show how approvals of Contractors are confirmed by the thorough desktop examination of evidence submitted with the questionnaire; this information is securely available to them over the internet from the central IMPRESS holding centre.  BP, ConocoPhillps, Novartis and Total Lindsey Oil Refinery (incl. APT) are keen to attract more Clients to the project and look to improve unit costs by sharing the data with a wider audience.  Interested Clients should contact IMPRESS in the first instance.
